i’ve never been much of a girly girl. but as i get a bit older, i’m noticing i’m enjoying femininity a little more. i found this adorable lavender tent minidress a while ago because i fell in love w/ the crisp cotton fabric, patch pockets and open back, but it was just so girly for me that it’s been sitting in my closet for a month.
well, it’s been raining and cloudy since monday and i got the urge to wear a sundress to chase away the gray. voila. turns out if i wear it with my black toggle hoddy, tights and brown boots, its palatable for the tomboy inside and i can pretend it’s nice out whilst keeping my feet dry and toasty.

black wool toggle hoodie: gift from mom
lavendar cotton tent dress with open back: $18 at Winner’s/TJ Maxx
black opaque tights: $4 at Canadian Superstore
black short shorts (just to avoid flashing my granny gonch – it’s laundry day): a hand-me-down from Eve
brown embossed leather flat boots by Nine West: $100
black beaded organza necklace: a gift from my friend Stacey. i love the length!

That looks sharp, Amber! The boots, especially, cut down on the toothache factor.
Left on my own I would’ve NEVER worn dresses/skirts but I had a number of events to attend this spring. When I started shopping I discovered I liked them much better than in the past, and now have several I actually choose to wear. I’ve even picked up, without being forced, two sundresses for summer! My relatives are amazed (or believe I’ve suffered a head injury.)
