Chicago BBQ Style

Chicago BBQ Style

I am still jet lagged from our trip to Chicago so I’m up at 6am and have a few minutes before my hubby wakes up and we begin our Saturday. We had a BBQ at a friend’s house (thanks, Pat and Sarah!) and their friend Annie came over (as well as a bunch of bike kids with their squirt guns and a cutie with veggie skewers and the most decadent banana bread) and what a whimsical fashion delight!

Check out her beautiful Walrus and the Carpenter tattoo:

And then there’s her pretty stripy dress which I covet. I never realized how much climate can influence fashion until I found myself wishing I had a light summer dress that would save me from the humidity. Vintage sun dresses were everywhere and Sarah showed me how she wore a pair of kelly green shorts under hers for biking purposes.

Then she grand-slammed the look by adding a pair of unicorn vans and a gold unicorn pendant from the 80s.

You Rock, Annie! Maybe if I become a White Sox fan, I can finally muster up enough mustard to go get my tattoo.

I HAD that unicorn necklace in the 70’s! Annie looks amazing. I’m heading to a Chicago street fair next weekend, can’t wait to soak up some summer street style!
