But make sure you only try it if you're hair is naturally black. There's a huge difference between bleaching your natural hair and trying to remove layers and layers of black dye. don't even think about attempting that without a hairdresser! but yes, if you're hair is naturally black, Born Blonde / Maxi Blonde is pretty powerful stuff and should get you pretty light in a couple of tries. after that if you want to go more ashy/platinum, try the Clairol Light Ash Blonde #818 (don't leave it in very long at all, your hair gets very porous by this point!) and buy some shampoo and conditioner with violet/blue pigments in them to keep it that way. any beauty supply store should have them. good luck!
