click on photos for more information or see the wardrobe remix flickr pool for more photos. for some reason these sort of ended up in order of least to most colorful…

hello, ms. brooks! shall we go riding this fine day? yowza.

painfully hip just can’t get enough of beautiful fin, piksi and her high-waisted skirts. love the peekaboo of purple tights.

her awesome leggings match her awesome sweater! love the pose.

more purple legwear! this outfit is pretty close to perfect.

sherbet tone (pictured below) described this outfit in the comments as “roman aristocracy.” lovely.

i adore this dress. i need a navy cardi to go with my navy knee socks, dammit.

this leather jacket is made of pure magic.

this is what the vintage society girl wears to run errands? damn, i just realized what a stumblebum i am.

yokoo is amazing. not only can she dress herself like nobody’s business, she’s also an amazing photographer. she took the last 2 gorgeous photos in my geek specs post.

sherbet tone‘s tee is one of those sparkly 80s prints that reads “i’m huggable” yet i would almost describe this outfit as elegant. touche!

i think i’m dreaming. that dress is just… gah.

it’s beautiful Adore Vintage again. just outside the frame is an insane mob of boys being held back by a riot squad.

sally jane jackie o’s it up. can she do any wrong? um, no.

not that this sweater is especially ugly, but don’t you love how ugly/festive sweaters are actually hip again? and these little knickers are to die for.

i’m not sure if this color explosion would work without the black bag anchoring everything, but i love it!
…i also love painfully hip reader discounts! i have a serious obsession with both flower sleeves and mustard (both only $24):

I love your commentary on these photos, you’re so incredibly positive & enthusiastic! How could these girls NOT feel amazing after being featured here?! You’re doing a very good thing :>
I am seriously envious. Particularly of piksi’s high-waisted skirt, the purple legwear and the aristocratic Roman dress.
Great picks! I think I favourited most of these featured outfits this week.
These wardrobe_remix-entries make me always feel really happy about … well, dressing up in the mornings.
Hi and thanks again! Wardrobe Remix has become such a style inspiration for me. I’m totally addicted!
Hi! Thanks for the honour! I’ve found wardrobe_remix just a few weeks ago and like Sally Jane said, I’m totally addicted now! Word of thanks for introducing w_r for me belongs to Ranna who wrote above. Right now I really should be studying for tomorrow’s exam but I hang out in w_r instead….
you’re blog is awesome! thanks for having me. it made my week!!
cute & lovely
Love these looks! Piksi is such an icon! And I adore Sally Jane’s red dress. It is splendid.
Gosh, I just stumbled in here and now I’m hooked! I wish I had the resources (and the guts) to put together vintage outfits like that in Malaysia – we’re lacking in both vintage/thrift stores AND acceptance.
Of course I have access to them while I’m having studying in the States, but if I wear such outfits out in Malaysian public they’d probably think I belonged in the loony bin
It’s too…..individualistic(?)
Lovely and inspirational as always! Some of these girls must stop traffic on the street! I’m just trying to pull together some sharp outfits, I’ve gotten some compliments, but nothing like these apparently effortless babes!
I wanted to put in a plug for Lady Language, as I recently ordered 3 items. They shipped the SAME DAY I ordered, got the order in 2 days, loved the top and dress, the other top was out of stock but they sent me a little tank as a freebie. Excellence in every way!
[...] Painfully Hip has great examples of fashionable thrifting. Never be afraid to consult a tailor when buying thrift store clothing. It’s cheaper to buy the gorgeous $5 dress that’s too big and have it altered then to buy something similar for $50 that every other girl will be wearing as well. [...]
