oh my.
i recently came across this old article about a crazy cosmetic torture device designed by Max Factor:

and although it’s not as torturous as the 11.5 million plastic surgeries that were performed in 2006, it most definitely proves that our f$%&ed up quest for perfection was always very healthy. hm, maybe healthy is the wrong word.

weirded out.

As terrifying as that thing looks, imagine the real damage: a normal young woman slips it on and up to 325 “glaring distortions” are revealed. What a self-image crusher! And of course, everyone should strive for one identical, perfect image without variation–didn’t Aldous Huxley write about a society like that? Creepy, happy late Halloween!

  • that has a strange pin-head vibe to it… ack! lol

  • maybe because I’ve had acupuncture done, but it doesn’t look half as bad as what I say in some csi-esuqe episode where they pulled out threading from some girl’s face (those nifty new facelifts). Uggg
