Props to the costume designers for creating the wardrobes and the "looks" for movie stars!
Ruth Morley	for Diane Keaton's Annie Hall
Karen Patch	for Gwyneth's Margo
Adrian for Wizard of Oz.....and the countless unnamed assistants!
My faves are:
Milena Canonero for A Clockwork Orange, Out of Africa, Darjeeling Limited....more !
Michael Kaplan, Charles Knode & Jean Giraud for Blade Runner
Colleen Atwood for Chicago, Edward Scissorhands, Memoirs of a Geisha, and many many more...
all of which google can provide immense detail about these talented people

In the summer I was big on Baby's style in Dirty Dancing - all those high-waisted skirts and shorts, cute blouses, and fresh white Keds. I need some new inspiration for fall/winter, though...

I love Brian Slade (played by Jonathan Rhys Myers) in Velvet Goldmine. That glam rock look is so sexy and androgynous.

Here's a more complete list of movies that have influenced my style:

i realized last night that my unlikely style icons are the ladies from 'ferris bueller's day off.' sloane petersen (mia sara) and ferris's little sister jeanie (jennifer grey) have some rockin' outfits! i especially love sloane's white leather fringed jacket. i couldn't find any pictures of their outfits online, but pay attention to them when you watch the movie sometime. jeanie's got the idea with high-waisted pants!

Oh, film is one of my favorite places to glean inspiration. I think I tend to lean toward a strange mix of Sophia Coppola and John Waters in sartorial aesthetic. Ha. But I must say, though I myself don't execute it on a daily basis, the Annie Hall look is one that I admire.

I enjoyed the fashion translation and I must say that Diane Keaton is one of my favorite movie stars of all time. I like her conservative, quirky sense of style - -it seems to work well for her.
