oversized houndstooth and checks, oh my!
i am absolutely fawning over big prints lately! prints that we’re used to seeing on a small scale are blowing up! houndstooth was always meant to be a small, discreet, subtle pattern. but lately i’ve been seeing it audaciously, graphicly oversized…
I also love it on accessories:

or mixed with other patterns…

or here, Sherbet Tone is wearing the most demure of tiny patterns, gingham. but oversized, it’s transformed into deliciously eye-catching purple checks!

Blow it up!

When I was in middle school I had a pair of black and white leggings with the exact same pattern. Being all weird and adolescent I only wore them once. Someone told me my legs looked funny so I threw them away and wore only jeans for years. If only I had those bad boys now

Right there with ya, Amber, I love these looks! I dropped too much money on a coat recently, mainly for the houndstooth and cute cut–kind of like the hippiechix one. AND it’s Christmastime, AND the heat bill’s sky high, AND I own like, 10 coats already. Mesmerizing.
