Painfully Beautiful: the Artwork of Raquel Apariciooh delight. a friend pointed me toward these illustrations by Raquel Aparicio of Ávila, Spain. I know that this breed of “creepy pretty” art is sorta huge these days, but this girl does it right with a lovely sense of vague foreboding.

Wow, she’s really good! Nice work!
I love it! It reminds me of my children’s books that were published in the 50s, which looked so cool with only a few colors of ink and effortless sketching. I especially like the last painting!
