“After seeing a 1983 Cosmo cover a few weeks ago with this shimmering fabric draped all over a naked body, well that was it. I hunted down the supplier and have made Night City Scarves. The fabric is brass that has been enameled and it’s unbelievably flexible and fluid and will last a lifetime. It is not rigid and moves just like fabric. Each hexagon is 1/8″ in diameter and they are machine linked together. It’s at once luxurious, retro, and rock and roll all wrapped into one! I think it’s the perfect scarf for when you don’t want to wear an oversized wrap at a dinner party.”
gahhh… drooooooool… need. $85. NOW.
An aside: To the mofo who stole my favorite jacket at the bar last night:
May you die alone with nothing but your hateful, hateful self to keep you company. And perhaps some stray cats to gnaw at your rotting corpse.
Sorry, but DAMN. I am forlorn beyond measure.
My mom had this necklace when I was young. I loved to play with it, it was fluid, and had beautiful movement, but felt industrial at the same time. She had matching earings as well. So cool.
i have something similar that i found at nordstrom for $20 back in december. i can wear it as a headband or necklace and it’s silver!
so sorry about your lovely jacket! that is so wrong!
I remember that from the 80s! A friend’s mom had a halter-type top made out of that fabric. I loved to feel it.
i hate when my jackets get stolen or ‘go missing’ at bars!!
damn that alcohol.
I’m sorry about your jacket!! I totally feel your pain. I’ve had good jackets go missing before and it is a major bummer. People are jerks! Clothing karma will get back to them.
Gah! Sorry to hear about your jacket
Wow we just found your site, and absolutely love it! Very inspiring… come pay us a visit sometime too! thefashionmafia.blogspot.com
Oh my god, how funny! I found that exact piece on Etsy yesterday & bookmarked it
Great minds lust alike, it seems. Haha!
very nice
My mom had one too, except she still has hers. I’m looking forwardto a hand-me down someday!
I have a clutch like that which my mom gave me – she kept it from the 80s. I love the fluidity of the material, I always play with it.
Oh no! That is so horrible about your jacket. What a cruel, heartless person!!!
I have a little purse thing that was my grandmas…it’s like this scarf. It’s awesome. Also, that gives off a bit of a Vegas vibe, no?
