Best friends since elementary school, Zoe Pawlak and Gen Ennis and are on a mission to inspire and “arm” female entrepreneurs via their sweet blog, Loaded Bow. Namely, “The Mad Ones.” As Kerouac once embroidered,
“The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes “Awww!”
“Hello!” said I. We already had something on common.
So we met up for a drink at the beautifully lit Chill Winston in Vancouver and played dressup. My friend, The Amazing Janos Sitar, shot some brilliant photography (including some blurry “styling action” shots – y’know, I move like a gazelle on speed) while we giggled a hell of a lot and rearranged the furniture in the bar. Zoe and Gen are precisely as talented, charming, inspiring and adorable as they appear. We had a short, but glowing time. Roman candles, indeed.
