It’s been said before that M.I.A. has some irrepressible personal style. That fact cannot be denied…  So it’s totally effing awesome that she’s starting her own clothing line of bomber jackets, print leggings and T-shirts! [source] But really? No more of this…?? A friend of mine says that the fact that she can’t dance worth a can of chickpeas is like the effect of a cooling tower on preventing a nuclear reaction of cool.  i definitely need more brat pack in my wardrobe.
i’ve been getting lots of searches for “inexpensive prom dresses” and even “how to look hip in formal wear” lately. must be prom season (in canada at least) with wedding season coming soon after. so i guess i better get on that for ya, since i just so happen to be sort of an expert in the field. first, here are some classics that are perfect for dressing up and can easily be a staple in your wardrobe afterwards.

i also love a classic dress shape like this strapless knee length A-line in emerald velvet paired with unexpected jewel-toned, velvet embellished flats! put a pink orchid in your hair or a pink velvet ribbon around your waist! make it your own. what fun.
