We had so much fun on this shoot! This was Eileen’s first time modeling, if you can believe that, and she looks like she was born on in front of the camera. Crystal (of Article Salon in Roseville) did some amazing things with Eileen’s asymmetrical platinum coif. The too adorable Tyler & Christina took my left-field neo-noir ideas and made beautiful art out of them. Christina also rocked the makeup and brought out the luminescence of Eileen’s skin. Tracy of Vintage Found did such a great job finding 80s vintage inspired by 40s futurism that my styling job was hardly a job at all. Skills! Thunderhorse Vintage provided the blue/black jumpsuit and the amazing sequin blouse (which totally reminds me of this cyberpunk gypsy dress from the Glamourai). Thanks all! I am THRILLED with the results!

Also, please take note that two items from the last PHDC photoshoot , found here and here, are up for auction at the amazing Market Publique (exclusive auctions for only the best vintage! Prices are easy on the eyes too!) at a fraction of their original prices. Calm down, ladies.

check me out: my first walk-in

The best thing about my new apartment is my new closet! I’ve never had a walk-in before and I don’t think I could do without one ever again.

Screw a dresser. Hanging all your clothes is the only way to go… It’s so much easier to come up with new outfits when you can easily see everything at once! I adore unexpected color combinations and accessories as an accent to an otherwise neutral outfit. I wore this dancing on 60′s Soul Night.

Congrats to my friends Jamaica and Lyndsay, who threw the perfect party last night to end a great year of a virtual fashion renaissance for Sacramento. I had a blast modeling for Sapphire Cordial. Good job, girls.

Upcoming: My goal for 2009 is to make it one big list of Firsts, including my first VLOG, when I go on a shoe shopping spree at Marshall’s. Yeah, you’re totally as excited as I am.

and not very exciting, but here is mine:

dirndl dress

I had to re-use my oktoberfest dirndl dress- its all I packed.
I just wrapped a braid made of yarn around my head and stuck some baby’s breathe in it.
This was at an amazing arial acrobatic event called The Homecoming Dance of Death, which was catered by my good friend Andrea of Forkable Blog (I helped make all those disembodied finger and eyeball cookies – yum).
Sorry for the blur, there was an open bar so the camera was a lil drunkypants.

M.I.A. gets her design on and considers quitting her day job

It’s been said before that M.I.A. has some irrepressible personal style. That fact cannot be denied…

mia style

So it’s totally effing awesome that she’s starting her own clothing line of bomber jackets, print leggings and T-shirts!

But really? No more of this…??

A friend of mine says that the fact that she can’t dance worth a can of chickpeas is like the effect of a cooling tower on preventing a nuclear reaction of cool.
